Composite Bonding
A less expensive and less invasive remedy than crowns or veneers, composite bonding is an effective technique used to improve the appearance of your teeth. Bonding is ideal for masking teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or injured teeth and reducing gaps between teeth. During the procedure, a delicate layer of plastic is painted onto the damaged teeth, adding strength to the teeth and making them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Composite bonding is a quick process, typically lasting less than an hour. Compared to veneers or crowns, it is a popular choice because it does not reduce the tooth’s original structure. Composite resins are available in many different shades. The shade can be chosen to match the natural color of the original tooth.
Composite bonds stain more easily and therefore require proper care and regular cleaning. In order to ensure the longest possible duration of the bonding, composites should be brushed and flossed daily. Common staining elements include coffee, tea, tobacco, foods, and candy. Invisalign
Invisalign is a breakthrough in orthodontic technology that lets you straighten your teeth with a series of clear, virtually invisible custom-molded aligners. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks until you have straighter teeth and a more beautiful smile. An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about a year, although the total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by your doctor.
Unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and you can brush your teeth as usual. Dental cleanings are also quicker and easier than with traditional orthodontics.
If you are interested in or have questions regarding Invisalign, just give our Plainville, CT dental office a call and one of our highly trained staff members can assist you.
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are plates of porcelain that are bonded on the front surface of the anterior teeth. Although they are very thin, veneers become very strong once bonded to the tooth. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for covering cracked, chipped, or discolored teeth. Because of their natural appearance, porcelain veneers can make a very pleasing improvement to your smile. Veneers have several advantages over other treatments: often, little or no anesthesia is required for the procedure and little or no tooth structure needs to be removed. A veneer application can be completed in only two visits to our Plainville, CT dental practice. For more information on porcelain veneers, please visit:
